SHORT SYNOPSIS
Reflections of Gauguin is a tale about the murky and twisted world of fine art. Focusing on the disputed artworks of French Post-Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin (1848–1903), the documentary explores a number of cases shrouded in uncertainty and debate. Through these cases, the documentary presents a gallery of fascinating characters, and attempts to find out what it is that we humans see and appreciate in art.
Money, status, honour and passion today go hand in hand in the secret and often confusing landscape of the great painting masters, but outside the mysterious inner circles there are a few people who simply want to answer one question: Is this painting a real Gauguin or not?
This is their story.
